About Me

My name is Ashley Azzopardi and I am 22 years old. I live in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

I have completed a Bachelor of Inclusive Education and Disability Studies (2008-2010) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). This course has provided me with great insight into the many disabilities people live with and to strongly believe in including students with disabilities into mainstream classrooms and how that can be achieved.

I am currently completing a Master of Teaching (Primary) / Graduate Certificate of Religious Education (2011-2012), also at ACU, in order to realise my dream of becomming a primary school teacher.

I have worked (2008-2011) as a casual for The Junction Works Inc. working with people with disabilities, ranging from high support needs to transition to work (TTW). This job has taught me more than I could ever have imagined and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet some great people with disabilities.

I have also tutored a male year 12 student with ADHD and a mild intellectual disability and I currently tutor a female year 7 student.

I am currently working as a casual primary school teacher at various schools gaining a lot of experience along the way.

I am the eldest of four, love my friends and family and have an amazing boyfriend who I love and am thankful for everyday.

I am a quiet achiever, determined, organised and an enternal optimist. I am very determined and looking forward to becoming not only a primary teacher, but the best primary teacher I can be.

  8. Hi Ashley; I am also studying at ACU (Primary). I have been a secondary teacher for a few years and now inspired by young teachers such as yourselves to complete retraining as a primary teacher. If I can take even a small fraction of what you have been teaching me in the last few weeks; my students will enjoying their classroom experience with me.
